Attention: the legislation with regard to reprography and education has recently been changed. The information on this website pertaining to reprography fees on the Belgian territory only remains valid for photocopies made (operator fee) and for acts of import (equipment levy on reproduction devices) before 1 January 2017. The other information on the website (with regard to, e.g., the company, its financial results and public lending right) remains valid. Reprobel’s public website will be updated as soon as possible in line with the new legislation.

Large-scale Profacts study on the copying and printing out in Belgium of works protected by copyright

In May 2013, the results of the large-scale study by Profacts on the copying and printing out in Belgium of copyright protected works were published. The copying section of the study has an official character and was mandated by Article 26 of the Royal Decree of 30 October 1997. Reprobel has, on its own initiative, conducted a parallel study on printing out using the same methodology as the one used for the official copying section as both copies and printed materials are “reproductions on paper”, and will in the near future fall under the reprographic system.  The study is the largest ever conducted in this field on the Belgian territory and, presumably, is also one of the largest in Europe.
