How much does Reprobel collect ?

Initially, the three communities had all opted for a centralised payment on behalf of their public lending institutions but due to discussions with the Flemish, French and German-speaking governmental authorities, the start of the collection had to be postponed.

Thus, the public lending right remunerations for 2004 – the first year in which Reprobel was allowed to collect this rights – were only paid in 2006. In total at the time, Reprobel collected 1,285,872 euros. The backlog of over a year between the year of use and the collection-year has currently yet to be caught up.

In 2010 Reprobel collected 1,487,471 euros of which 1,267,379 euros was for the year of use 2008 and 220,092 euros was for the year of use 2009.

Because the French Community did not renew the approval of a centralised collection, for 2007 and 2008 Reprobel collected the amounts directly from the French speaking libraries.
